Guru Da Banda is a Punjabi Animated movie based on the life of the great warrior of Sikh History, Baba Banda Singh Bahadar. Banda Singh Bahadur established a monastery at Nanded, on the bank of the river Godavari, where in September 1708 he was visited by, and became a disciple of, Guru Gobind Singh, who gave him the new name of Banda Singh Bahadur after initiating him into the Khalsa. Armed with the blessing and authority of Guru Gobind Singh, he came to Khanda in Sonipat and assembled a fighting force and led the struggle against the Mughal Empire.
The film is Based on acclaimed book "Dakkuan da Munda" an auto-biography of famous writer and journalist Mintu Gurusariya. Mintu became a drug addict when he was a young Kabbadi player and exposure to drugs also introduced him to the world of crime. Today, Mintu is an inspiration for the youth and their families as having managed to break the vicious cycle of drugs and crime.
Kabaddi champion of the village, Jind raises her son to be the most honest and reputable player. Unfortunately, the son gets addicted to drugs, threatening to destroy himself and his mother.
